April showers bring May flowers they say, but that's no reason not to have an April wedding! Monica and Josh tied the knot on the 14th, which ended up being the perfect day. Just a few days beforehand we had snow and freezing temperatures. We ended up with just a sprinkling throughout the day and a high temp in the 50s... I'll take it!
I love the fact that weddings represent the joining of two different families, especially when there's so much diversity already ingrained. There were friends and family from all over - even some traveling from Honduras and Spain!
The ceremony was at Saint Colman church in Cleveland which was breath-taking with amazing artwork and marble. The most unexpected thing was her guitarrista cousins (Ivan & Gabriel) playing Spanish guitar at several places throughout the ceremony. Ivan and her brother Julio sang along as well. To be honest, I wasn't sure what to expect but once they started playing and singing, I was blown away. I only wish I spoke Spanish to understand what they were saying! The style is from the Neocatechumenal Way, which I'll admit I searched Spotify for haha.
The reception at Mapleside Farms in Brunswick was so cozy. Monica & Josh were even surprised with a home-made video with photos and clips of their childhood. Definitely a heartfelt surprise!
As I was heading out I noticed their wedding favor was home-made beer... what an amazing idea! (and not just because our own wedding favor was home-made wine haha). I know first hand how much work it takes to craft enough beverage for your wedding guests and design labels. Extra points to Monica & Josh :-)
Check out just a few of the amazing photos from their wedding below!
